has anyone else just accepted that their ingrown hairs and dark marks are never going away? I've given up trying

been dealing with ingrown hairs and razor bumps on my underarms and bikini line since I was like 15. im 27 now. thats over ten years of this. ive tried literally everything. scrubs. waxing. sugaring. tend skin. salicylic acid. exfoliating. ive spent so much money I don't even want to think about it. nothing worked. not even close. the bumps come back every single time. and the dark marks just keep building on top of each other getting darker every month. I already have so many marks from years of this. I stopped buying products about 6 months ago. I stopped researching. I just accepted this is how my skin is going to look forever and started dressing around it.

I gave up on my ingrown hairs and dark marks. Then a few people said something in the comments that I couldn't ignore.

I wrote that post out of desperation. fed up with ingrown hairs and dark marks on my underarms and bikini line for years. I tried everything — scrubs, tend skin, waxing, different razors. nothing worked.

I spent so much money only to watch the dark marks get worse every month. I thought that's just how my skin was going to look forever. so I stopped trying. stopped buying products. just started dressing around it and pretending it wasn't affecting me.

I posted that at midnight just to know I wasn't the only one. turns out over a thousand people felt exactly the same way.

Dark marks from ingrown hairs

years of dark marks that nothing touched

"I felt exactly like this post. Ten years of ingrown hairs and dark marks. Ten years of products that didn't work. I had stopped buying anything six months ago. This is the first thing that ever made sense based on why the problem actually happens."

most comments were women saying the same thing. which honestly made me feel less alone but also more hopeless. if nobody had figured it out either what hope did I have.

but then a few people — not just one, a few different people — kept mentioning the same thing. a serum roller. and I almost scrolled past it because I had heard that before. another product. another promise. another disappointment.

but the way they explained it was different to anything I had heard before. and I couldn't stop thinking about it.

"I'll be honest — I thought it was going to be exactly like everything else I'd tried. Another serum that sits on top of your skin and does nothing. I almost didn't order it."

— the comment that stopped me from scrolling

they said every product I had ever tried was water based. and water based products literally cannot get inside the follicle where the hair is actually trapped. they just sit on top of the skin. going nowhere near where the problem lives.

that is why the bumps kept coming back. that is why the dark marks kept building every month. I had been treating the surface of a problem that lived underneath my skin the whole time. for years. without knowing it.

I felt so stupid when I read that. so much money. so much time. and the whole time nothing I tried could even reach the problem.

why the roller works when nothing else does

BHA — salicylic acid — is the only oil-soluble acid. meaning it is the only ingredient that can physically travel inside the follicle and break the blockage at the source. that is what this roller has. everything else you have tried is water based and cannot get there.

and the dark marks that stay after the bump clears — that is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. your skin producing excess melanin every time it gets inflamed. most products only treat the bump. nobody was treating the mark.

niacinamide stops the melanin transfer. licorice root stops new marks forming. the bump and the mark. both. at the same time. one roller.

"I had genuinely given up. Dark marks on my underarms and bikini line for years. Nothing I tried ever touched them. When I found out it was a water-based chemistry problem it made complete sense. Two weeks using this and they're actually fading."

I ordered it thinking I've heard this before. this probably won't work either.

day four the bumps were already calming down. I kept waiting for them to come back the way they always did after a few days.

week two I took a photo of my underarm and compared it to one from before. the dark marks actually looked lighter. I was so convinced I was imagining it I showed my friend. she said no they actually look different before I even said anything.

I'm not saying it works for everyone. I know how many times you've bought something and been let down. I know that feeling. but a few different people in my comments pointed to the same thing and it was the first thing that ever actually made sense based on what was causing the problem.

the roller that reaches inside the follicle

"Stopped trying to fix this months ago. Found this through a comment and ordered it thinking it probably wouldn't work. Week two my friend noticed before I said a word. I genuinely can't believe something finally worked."

every month without the right ingredients is another cycle of bumps leaving more marks. the hyperpigmentation doesn't stay the same.

it gets darker. every single cycle.
